Nieuwe interpretatie van Verdi's tragikomische meesterwerk

Maestro Marek Janowski, het Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo en het Transsylvanisch Staatsfilharmonisch Koor presenteren Giuseppe Verdi's Un ballo in Maschera (1859) met een topcast: Freddie De Tommaso (Riccardo), Lester Lynch (Renato) en Saioa Hernández (Amelia). Un ballo in maschera is Verdi's tragikomische meesterwerk, waarin de componist handig schakelt tussen het lichte en het tragische, en tussen zijn vroegere en rijpere stijl. Als zodanig is het zowel een onderhoudend als een zeer uitdagend werk. De drie belangrijkste solisten zijn allemaal ervaren Verdi-vertolkers, terwijl Janowski deze verfijnde partituur benadert met zijn oog voor symfonische architectuur, wat resulteert in een levendige en evenwichtige uitvoering.
