Boris Giltburg (piano)

Pianist Boris Giltburg winnaar Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd 2013 brengt zijn tweede opname uit na zijn veelgeprezen cd met Prokofieffs oorlogssonates. De Prokofieff CD was ook de eerste CD die de klassieke muziek hitlijsten binnenkwam. Geboren in Moskou in 1984, begon hij op 5 jarige leeftijd met pianolessen bij zijn moeder. De talrijke prijzen die Giltburg in de afgelopen jaren heeft gewonnen, getuigen van zijn buitengewone bekwaamheid als pianist.

Het hoogtepunt van deze cd is Giltburgs vertolking van de Liszt Sonate. Giltburg speelt deze adembenemende sonate in deze, zijn tweede opname als uit één stuk, waarbij hij de juiste mengeling van passie en beheersing vindt. Dat verdient respect!
