Lars Vogt (piano), Royal Northern Sinfonia

Lars Vogt is, naast zijn rol als voortreffelijk pianist, ook bekend als chef-dirigent van de Royal Northern Sinfonia in Newcastle, UK. Op zijn laatste album combineert Vogt beide carrièresporen, door het veeleisende Brahms Eerste pianoconcert vanaf de piano voor het eerst op CD te dirigeren. Dit is nooit eerder gedaan - althans niet op CD - en toont Vogt als een artistieke persoonlijkheid van enorme technische genialiteit en met een grote artistieke visie.
